〘 noun 〙 A high-quality cotton used for kimonos and other items, produced around the Bunka and Bunsei eras (1804-30 ) in the vicinity of Ome in Musashi Province ( Ome City, Tokyo). Three sheets of cotton are stretched to make one full-length kimono. It is strong, resilient, and water-repellent.
