A worm of the family Echinodermata. It is found in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk north of Akkeshi in Hokkaido, the northeast coast of North America, and the waters of Iceland. It is about 10 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, and is grayish-white to yellowish-gray in color, although larger ones are reddish. Small dermal papillae are arranged in a ring shape on the surface of the body. A spatula-shaped snout about 2 cm long extends from the end of the head, and there is a pair of abdominal setae behind the mouth that opens downward. There are also 11 tail setae on the outside and 8 on the inside surrounding the anus at the rear end of the body.

キタユムシ科のユムシ動物。北海道の厚岸以北のオホーツク海,北アメリカ北東岸,アイスランド海域に分布する。体長10cm,体幅2.5cm内外,灰白~黄灰色であるが,大型のものは紅色を帯びている。体表には小さい皮膚乳頭がほぼ輪状に並んでいる。頭端からは長さ2cmほどのへら状の吻(ふん)がで,その下方に開く口の後方に1対の腹剛毛がある。また,体後端にある肛門をとり巻いて,外側に11本,内側に8本の尾剛毛が並んでいる。
