This is a collection of dance songs representative of young Kabuki. It is included in the Shiogama Shrine collection of "Narihira Dance 16," which has a colophon dated 1681. There is no consensus as to when these songs were performed, by what roles, or what the dance called Narihira Dance actually was, but since it is written under the catalog that "Narihira Dance is a daisho-sho kyogen," it is believed that they were originally sung in daisho-sho kyogen performed by kyogen actors in female Kabuki troupes, and then passed on to young Kabuki via the kyogen actors.
