A port located in ancient Nanoagata. It is also called Nanootsu. It is believed to have been located at the mouth of the Naka River in Fukuoka City. The name appears in the Nihon Shoki, but in the Shoku Nihongi it is called Hakataotsu (Hakata Port), so whether it is the same as Natsu is questionable. The Senka chapter of the Nihon Shoki states that a government residence was built on the banks of Natsu, and that in the 7th year of the Saimei era (661), he traveled to Nanootsu to rescue Baekje, but stayed at the nearby Iwase Imperial Palace and changed the name of the port to Nagatsu.
