Mongolian author. He built the foundations of modern Mongolian literature based on socialist realism, and is known as the father of modern Mongolian literature. His play Učirtaj gurban tolgoj (Three People with a Problem) continues to be so popular that it is performed several times a year at the Mongolian National Theater. He has written many masterpieces of short stories, and is famous for his prose works such as Xuučin xüü (The Old Child) and Cagaan sar ba xar nulmasu (New Year's Day and Painful Tears), and poems such as Minij nutag (My Homeland).
