Japanese: 中村梅玉 - なかむらばいぎょく

Kabuki actor. Three generations since the first generation, who used the pen name of Nakamura Utaemon III. The pen name of the second generation and after was Sanjaku, and the stage name was Takasagoya. (1) Second Generation (1841-1921, Tempo 12-Taisho 10) Born in Kyoto. Real name Sasaki Tokukazu. Debuted in 1848 (Kaei 1). He had several teachers, but in 1868 (Meiji 1), through the intermediation of impresario San-ei, he took on the name of Nakamura Fukusuke III (Takasagoya lineage). From then on, he developed both his popularity and his skills, and by the 1890s, he had become a central figure in the Kansai region. In 1907, he took on the name Baigyoku. He had a dignified appearance and a profound performance.

歌舞伎俳優。3世中村歌右衛門の俳名を初世として3世代。2世以後の俳名は三雀，屋号高砂屋。(1)2世(1841‐1921∥天保12‐大正10)　京都生れ。本名笹木徳数。1848年(嘉永1)初舞台。何人かの師についたが，68年(明治1)興行師三栄の仲介で3世中村福助(高砂屋系)を襲名，以後人気技量ともに進み，明治30年代には関西の中心的存在となった。1907年梅玉を襲名。堂々たる風貌で演技は重厚であった。
