Kabuki actor. There are six generations, beginning with the posthumous name of Nakamura Kanzaburo IV. The first is the most famous, followed by the second. (1) First (1662-1713, Kanbun 2-Shotoku 3): Son of Kankuro, the eldest son of Nakamura Kanzaburo I. Haiku name: Maizuru. After serving as Nakamura Kanzaburo IV for seven years, he handed over his position as head of the troupe to Kanzaburo III's son Takematsu in 1684 (Jokyo 1) and changed his name to Denkuro. Thereafter, he was called Edo's retired person. He excelled in Shosagoto, but was especially renowned for his rough drama, and was praised as a master of triptychs in the Edo theater world during the Genroku period, along with Ichikawa Danjuro I and Nakamura Shichisaburo I. 歌舞伎俳優。4世中村勘三郎の後名に始まり6世まである。初世が最も名高く,2世がこれに次ぐ。(1)初世(1662‐1713∥寛文2‐正徳3) 初世中村勘三郎長男勘九郎の子。俳名舞鶴。4世中村勘三郎として7年勤めた座元を1684年(貞享1)に3世勘三郎の子竹松に譲り伝九郎と改名。以後江戸の御隠居と呼ばれる。所作事にも秀でたが特に荒事系の劇術に名声を得,初世市川団十郎,初世中村七三郎とともに元禄期江戸劇壇において三幅対の名人と賞される。
