?‐628 Khagan (Khan) during the height of the Western Turkdom. Reigned 618?-628. Brother of Shaki Khan. After ascending to the throne, he confronted the Sassanid Empire of Persia and brought the countries of the Hindu Kush mountain range under his control. He moved his base from the Yilduz Valley in the center of the Tianshan to Qianquan in the western Tianshan and then to Suyab (Suiyab), and while relying on the nomadic steppe region, he secured the oases in the area and appointed governors in each region. One of the foundations of his prosperity was his control over these key transportation and trade points from east to west and north to south.
