A former town in Shimoagata County, Nagasaki Prefecture, located almost in the center of Tsushima Island. Located on the north shore of Aso Bay, it cultivates pearls, sea bream, and yellowtail, and cultivates shiitake mushrooms. In March 2004, it merged with Izuhara Town, Mitsushima Town, Mine Town, Kamiagata Town, and Kamitsushima Town in Shimoagata County to form Tsushima City. 75.22 km2 . Population: 4,653 (2003).
