A village in Shimoina County, southern Nagano Prefecture. Population 7,169 (1995). Located in the southern Ina Basin, on the eastern bank of the midstream Tenryu River, river terraces have developed along the Tenryu River. Rice cultivation and sericulture have been the main agricultural practices, but in recent years fruit cultivation such as apples, persimmons and plums, dairy farming, pig farming and other livestock farming have become popular. There are many ruins, including the Tomonohara ruins from the middle Jomon period and the Tamurahara ruins from the early Jomon period to the Kofun period. 長野県南部,下伊那郡の村。人口7169(1995)。伊那盆地南部,天竜川中流東岸に位置し,天竜川沿いには河岸段丘が発達している。米作と養蚕を主体とする農業が営まれてきたが,近年リンゴ,柿,梅などの果樹栽培や酪農,養豚などの畜産が盛んになっている。縄文中期の伴野原(とものはら)遺跡,縄文早期~古墳時代の田村原遺跡など遺跡が多い。豊丘村歴史民俗資料館がある。【萩原 毅】
