Born on October 18, 1889. Joined the Jiji Shimpo Company in 1913, and broke the scoop on the abolition of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance and the establishment of the Quadri-Power Treaty at the Washington Naval Conference in 1917. Became president in 1950. Published the War Chronicles series, and received the Kikuchi Kan Award in 1961. First chairman of Kyodo News and the Japan Newspaper Publishers & Editors Association. Died on April 21, 1962, at the age of 72. Born in Ibaraki Prefecture. Graduated from Keio University. Written works include "The Last of the Combined Fleet."
