Mr. Mizuhaya

Japanese: 水走氏 - みずはやうじ

A medieval warrior of Kawachi. In the Mizuhashiri Family Tree, he is listed as a descendant of the powerful Hiraoka clan of Kawachi Province and takes the surname Fujiwara. In the early 12th century, his ancestor, Suetada, was appointed as the Imperial Estate Oe Mikuriya Yamamoto/Kawamata no Suke, and in the mid-12th century, he developed the land of Mizuhashiri in Kawachi County and took the name Mizuhashiri. It is believed that he presented offerings as the local administrator of Mikuriya, but during the Genpei War he became a vassal of the government following Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and expanded his influence to Wakae County and Manda County. Representative positions held by him included the Mikuriya no Suke, as well as provincial government positions such as Kawachi County south head chief, four-district governor, and provincial government mapmaker, and it is believed that he was a member of the government.

河内の中世武士。《水走系図》では河内国の豪族平岡連の後胤とし藤原姓を名のっている。12世紀初め祖始季忠が皇室領大江御厨山本･河俣執当職に補され，12世紀中ごろ河内郡水走の地を開発し水走氏を称した。御厨の現地管理者として供御を貢進したと思われるが，源平争乱期に源義経に従い御家人となり，勢力も若江郡，茨田（まんだ）郡に広げた。その所職の代表的なものとして御厨執当職のほか，国衙の所職に河内郡以南惣長者職，四ヶ郷郷務，国衙図師などがあり在庁の一員であったと思われる。
