Stichophthalmia

...Small ones have a wingspan of about 6 cm, while large ones can reach 17 cm. Some, such as Zeuxidia , have a bluish-purple sheen reminiscent of Morpho butterflies, some, such as Taenaris , have a single large eye-spot on the surface of their hind wings, and some, such as Stichophthalma , have a long row of eye-spots on the underside. They live in dim tropical forests and bamboo groves, and are active in the early morning or twilight hours after sunset, which makes them similar to the families Strigidae and Satyridae.
