A method of breeding. It refers to the process of introducing new crop or livestock varieties from abroad and either using them as is or using them as a basis to select varieties suited to the country's own climate. When introducing new foreign crop varieties, they are first grown in isolation and rigorously tested, especially to prevent the introduction of any new accompanying pathogens or pests, and only safe varieties are transferred to normal fields and comparative tests are conducted between varieties. When a large number of individuals of the same variety are cultivated, genetic mutations that were not previously noticeable may appear because the environmental conditions are significantly different from those in the country of origin.
