An adjuvant used to strengthen the spreading power of pesticide sprays. Examples include synthetic surfactants, casein lime, agricultural soap, and rosin spreading agents, with surfactants being the most widely used today. Casein lime is a powder made by adding slaked lime to milk casein, and has excellent dispersion stability and adhesion. Among surfactants, anionic surfactants (also called negative ionic surfactants) include soapless soap, sulfated oil, higher alcohol sulfate esters, and sulfonates, while nonionic surfactants are mainly composed of polyoxyethylene alkyl allyl ether, and most of the spreading agents currently on the market belong to this category. Surfactants have excellent performance in terms of dispersion stability, wetting and spreading ability, adhesion, adhesion, stability against the main agent, and resistance to hard water.
