Suggestion system

A system in which employees in a company propose ideas and opinions for improving daily operations in a set format. This system has been seen since the Edo period in the form of suggestion boxes, but the current form was introduced after World War II as a human relations technique and has become widespread. Usually, a suggestion box is set up and employees are asked to write their suggestions on a set form and post them. A review committee reviews the suggestions and decides whether or not they will be accepted, and gives them a grade, and accordingly pays them a reward or presents them with a commemorative gift or badge. The direct aim of this system is to improve operations through employees' ideas, but it also aims to strengthen employees' sense of participation in management, thereby increasing their motivation to work and facilitating communication.

企業内において従業員が日常業務の改善などについてアイディアや意見を一定の方式で提案する制度。江戸時代から目安箱などの形でみられた制度であるが，現在の形のものは第2次世界大戦後，ヒューマン・リレーションズの一技法として導入され，広く普及している。通常は提案箱を設け，提案内容を一定の用紙に書いて投函させ，それを審査委員会などが審査して採否や等級を決め，それに応じて報償金を支給したり記念品やバッジを贈ったりする。この制度のねらいは，直接的には従業員のアイディアによって業務を改善することであるが，従業員の経営への参画意識を強めること，それによって勤労意欲を高めること，コミュニケーションを円滑にすることなどにある。
