A type of horse harness. A metal fitting attached to the intersection of the buttocks (shirigai, → santsugi). The ones excavated from the ancient tombs have a hemispherical base with short legs on all four sides, to which strings are riveted, and many of them are made of iron plated with gilt copper. 馬具の一種。尻繋 (しりがい。→三繋 ) の交差するところに取付ける金具。古墳出土のものは半球状の座の四方に短い足が出て,その足に紐を鋲留めにする形式で,鉄の地に金銅を張ったものが多い。
