Zeltsack - Zeltsack (English spelling) German

A type of mountaineering equipment. A simple, small tent for emergency use, lightweight and easy to carry, there are various types, from simple ones that you just put over your head to small tents with frames. In Japan, it is often abbreviated to "zeruto." It used to be carried as an emergency item, but in recent years it has been actively used even during normal mountain climbing, and it is convenient for small groups of people climbing rock walls because it reduces the amount of luggage they need to carry, expanding the range of their activities.

登山用具の一つ。非常用の簡便な小型テントをいい、軽量かつ携帯に便利で、ただかぶるだけの簡便なものからフレームの入った小型テントまで各種のものがある。日本ではツェルトと略すことが多い。非常用として携帯していたが、近年ではむしろ積極的に平常の登山のときでもこれを利用して行動することが行われており、少人数の岩壁登攀(とうはん)などには荷物が少なくなるため便利で行動半径が拡大した。
