A performance such as a play, music show, or movie that is held to use the proceeds for a socially meaningful purpose. It is a charity performance. In English, it is called a charity performance or a charity concert. There are two ways to make money: the performers receive little or no performance fee, or they charge a high admission fee, and sometimes both are used together. This was unthinkable in the days when the performing arts were under the patronage of the nobility, and the emergence of charity shows is inseparable from the modern phenomenon of the performing arts becoming financially independent.
