Ise Kasazuke - Ise Kasazuke

Japanese: 伊勢笠付 - いせかさづけ

Zappai style. A type of kasatsuke that was performed every winter at the Ise Yamada kai. It was invented as a way to practice composing haiku in the Ise school of haiku, and was performed from around 1716 (Kyoho 1), with participants such as Chiyora. Initially, it was a four-character noun title with one particle and 12 characters added, such as ``The cold voice - the tide rises to the feet of the person'' (``Nijubukuro''), but from around the Kansei era (1789-1801), long titles were used that did not care about the number of characters, and it changed to ``Just when I was bored - he came calling with something like ochazuke'' (Kansei 10th year Kaisho edition).

雑俳様式。伊勢山田で毎冬夜会即点で行われた笠付の一種。伊勢派俳諧で句作りの練習法として考案され，1716年(享保1)ごろから行われ，樗良（ちよら）なども参加した。当初は4字の名詞題に助詞1字と12字を付ける〈寒声―の足まで潮が満ちて来る〉(《二重袋》)のような形であったが，寛政(1789‐1801)ごろから字数にかまわぬ長題が出され，〈退屈をした所へ―お茶漬などといふて来る〉(寛政10年の会所本)のように変わった。
