Otogi-zoshi. Shogun Toshihito, whose son Toshisuke and the giant snake of Masuda-ike Pond were married, had his wife stolen by a demon named Akuru-o of Takayama, Mutsu Province, but with the protection of Tamonten of Kurama, he defeated Akuru-o and got his wife back. Meanwhile, he had a child with a woman of low status from Tamura-no-Sato, Hatsuse County, Mutsu Province, who grew up to become Shogun Toshimune of Tamura. At the age of 17, Toshimune defeated a monster called Riyousen, who hit a bullet, on Mount Narasaka in Yamato Province, and two years later, he received an imperial decree to defeat the demon god Odakemaru of Mount Suzuka in Ise Province. He married a heavenly maiden named Suzuka Gozen, and with her help, he defeated Odakemaru.

御伽草子。〈とししげ〉将軍の子〈としすけ〉がますだが池の大蛇との間にもうけた利仁将軍は，陸奥国たか山の〈あくる王〉という鬼に妻を奪われたが，鞍馬の多聞天の守護をこうむって〈あくる王〉を滅ぼし，妻をとり返す。その折，陸奥国はつせの郡田むらの郷の賤（しず）の女との間にもうけた子が長じて田村大将軍俊宗となる。俊宗は17歳のとき，大和国奈良坂山で，かなつぶてをうつ〈りやうせん〉という化生のものを退治し，さらに2年後には，伊勢国鈴鹿山の〈大だけ丸〉という鬼神を滅ぼすべしとの宣旨をこうむり，鈴鹿御前という天女を妻とし，その助けによって〈大だけ丸〉を退治する。
