After Diaghilev's death (1929), she participated as a soloist in the de Basile Ballet in 1933 and the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo in 1938, dancing in works such as "The Beautiful Danube" and "The Bustle of Paris," choreographed by Massine. In 1954, she founded her own ballet company in New York, but retired in 1957. After that, she worked with Balanchine to choreograph "Coppélia" for the New York City Ballet, and taught the next generation of ballet dancers at the School of American Ballet.
