Danu (English spelling)

Japanese: ダヌー - だぬー(英語表記)Danu
Danu (English spelling)
A goddess in Celtic mythology. She is the mother goddess of the earth and the source of life, and is also called Dana. Danu is the ancestor of the giant race of deities, the Tuatha De Danann (meaning "a race whose mother is Danu"). This race of deities came to Ireland, but was later defeated by the Milesians and became Irish fairies. This story was the subject of literary works during the Irish Renaissance, such as Lady Gregory's Gods and Warriors (1904). [Yamamoto Yasuo]
