A former town in Kuwana County in northern Mie Prefecture. It occupies the mountainous area in the southwest of the Yoro Mountains. Fruit cultivation, such as mandarin oranges and persimmons, is popular in the hills, and rice farming is thriving in the lowlands along the Ibi River. The Kintetsu Yoro Line runs through the town, and Tado Shrine is located there. In December 2004, it was incorporated into Nagashima Town, Kuwana County, and Kuwana City. 47.58 km2 .
