Born in 1879. Studied under the first Chikuzen Biwa player Tachibana Kyokuo. Later, studied Gidayu-bushi in Osaka, but returned to the Biwa. He gained popularity for his melodies incorporating the tunes of Joruri and his beautiful voice. His pupils included Hirata Kyokushu and others. Died on March 3, 1938, at the age of 60.
