…Thus, as biographical material, they are fundamental contemporary sources, but it is important to be aware that they are always positive toward the tomb owner. Examples of epitaph inscriptions are given by Pan Angxiao of the Yuan Dynasty (Han Koushou) in his "Examples of Jinshi", Wang Xing of the Ming Dynasty (Wang Xing) in his "Examples of Tomb Inscriptions", and Huang Zongxi of the Qing Dynasty (Han Zongxi) in his "Examples of Jinshi". These are collectively called the "Three Examples of Jinshi". The works can be found in the collections of their authors, and in recent years, with the development of archaeology, many real ones have been excavated. Most of the ones before the Northern and Southern Dynasties of China have been collected in Zhao Wanli's "Collection and Commentary on Tomb Inscriptions of the Han, Wei, and Southern Dynasties" (1956), and the real ones excavated from the site can be easily seen in museums all over China. …
