Japanese: ダイバーシティ方式 - ダイバーシティほうしき（英語表記）diversity system

A method of combining or switching between two or more received signals with different time fluctuations to reduce the effects of fading that occurs in wireless communication. In contrast, the normal receiving method is called single reception. There are many methods used to obtain signals with little correlation, including spatial diversity, which receives signals using multiple receiving antennas spaced several wavelengths apart from each other, polarization diversity, which receives multiple, differently polarized waves, frequency diversity, which transmits signals using multiple transmission channels with different frequency bands, and time diversity, which transmits signals multiple times with a certain time lag.

無線通信で生ずるフェージングの影響を軽減するため，信号の時間変動が相互に異なる二つ以上の受信信号を合成したり，切り替えたりする方式。これに対して通常の受信方式を単一受信single receptionという。　相関の少ない信号を得る方法として，互いに数波長隔たった複数の受信アンテナで受信する空間ダイバーシティ，複数の異なった偏波を受信するようにした偏波ダイバーシティ，異なった周波数帯域の送信チャンネルを複数個用いて送信する周波数ダイバーシティ，信号伝送を一定時間ずらして複数回行う時間ダイバーシティなど多種類のものが用いられている。
