A Jodo sect monk from the end of the Muromachi period to the beginning of the Edo period. Author of "Ryukyu Shinto-ki." Also known as Ryosada. Born in Kikuta-gun, Mutsu Province (Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture). At the age of 14, he became a monk at Noman-ji Temple in the same province, and studied at a temple of the Nagoshi sect. He became interested in collecting old records and manuscripts. Later, he studied at the Zojo-ji Temple academy, and while traveling around the country, he studied astronomy, geography, Shinto, military strategy, and other subjects, and also worked to spread the Jodo sect. He returned to his hometown of Jotoku-ji Temple and became the 13th abbot. While spreading his faith, he wrote "Bonkan Taiei-shu," "Jodo Kechimyaku-ron," and "Kirin Seizai-ron Shishaku," establishing himself as a scholar-monk. He was converted by Iwaki Sadataka, the lord of Hira Castle, and built a Shomyo dojo within the castle. In 1603, at the age of 52, he intended to go to China, and first went to Ryukyu, where he devoted himself to missionary work. He gained the support of King Shō Nei of Ryukyu, and founded Keirin-ji Temple. While living at Keirin-ji Temple, he preached at the temple, and at Shō Nei's request, he wrote "Ryukyu Shintōki" and "Ryukyu Orai-ki". In 1608, he returned to Japan, restored the former site of Dokō's Bosei-ro, and built Danrin-Hōrin-ji Temple at the end of Sanjō-Ōhashi Bridge in Kyoto. He later took up residence in Himurodani in northern Kyoto and Kikugaya in Higashiyama, where he lived a quiet life and devoted himself to writing. He built over 20 temples, and his footprints spanned all over the country. Many outstanding scholars came from Fukuro-naka's disciples. His other works include "Hyosaijarin". <References> "Fukuro-naka Shonin-den"
