Japanese: 大小物 - だいしょうもの

One of the names of Noh plays. It means "large and small drums" and is a general term for Noh plays performed with three types of instruments: flute (Noh flute), small drum, and large drum. There are many plays with a quiet and elegant feel, and most of the Noh plays with asura and wig performances are small drums. Some plays include drums, and even among "maigoto" (dances), there are both small drums and large drum plays. Taikomono (Matsumoto Yo)

能の曲種名の一つ。大小鼓物の意で，笛(能管)･小鼓･大鼓の3種の楽器で奏演する能の総称。静寂･優美などの趣の演目が多く，修羅物の能や鬘物（かつらもの）の能はほとんどが大小物である。演目によっては太鼓の加わる演出のものもあり，〈舞事（まいごと）〉の中にも，大小物と太鼓物の両様がある。太鼓物【松本雍】
