Japanese: 待賢門平治合戦 - たいけんもんへいじがっせん

A work of old Joruri. There is a 1643 (Kan'ei 20) original version. The name of the tayu is unknown. It consists of six acts. Based on the Tale of Heiji, the latter half of the work seems to be based on the Kōwakamai Kamata, such as the death of Minamoto no Yoshitomo and the murder of Kamata Masakiyo, but it is simpler than that. The end resembles the sekkyōbushi Kamata Hyoe Masakiyo. The story is scripted because it covers a fairly wide range of subjects, but the many highlights, such as Akugenta's exploits, Tomonaga's seppuku, Yoshitomo's death, Masakiyo's violent death, the suicide of his wife and five children, and Kan'ōmaru's bravery, show the characteristics of old Joruri.

古浄瑠璃の作品。1643年(寛永20)の正本などがある。太夫の名は不明。6段よりなる。《平治物語》によった作品で，後半の源義朝の最期や鎌田政清の殺されるところなどに幸若舞《鎌田》によっているらしいところがあるが，それよりは簡単になっている。終りの方は説経節《鎌田兵衛正清》に似たところがある。かなり広い題材を扱っているために物語は筋書風になっているが，悪源太の活躍，朝長の切腹，義朝の最期，政清の横死，妻子5人の自殺，金王丸の武勇など，多くの見せ場を作っているところに，古浄瑠璃風の特徴が見られる。
