One of the Five Great Wisdom Kings. Placed in the west. Also one of the Eight Great Wisdom Kings. In Sanskrit, it is called Yamantaka (Emmantoku Kaido King). In the Taizokai of the Genzu Ryōkai Mandala, it is placed at Jimyō-in Temple. The statue has six faces, six arms, and six legs, rides a buffalo, has three eyes, and has a skull as a garland. In the Shogun Daiitoku Myōō Hō, it is used to pray for victory in battle. The image in the Toshodai-ji Temple is of a strange figure standing on the back of a buffalo. There are statues of the solitary deity at Gofuku-ji Temple (Nagano Prefecture) and Ishiba-ji Temple (Shiga Prefecture).
