Japanese: 台[温泉] - だい

This hot spring is located in Yumoto, Hanamaki City, in central Iwate Prefecture. It is about 1.5km northwest of Hanamaki Onsen and faces the Yunosawa Valley, a tributary of the Dai River. As the place name Yumoto suggests, it boasts the largest volume of hot spring water in the Hanamaki Onsen area and has long been known as a therapeutic hot spring resort. Hanamaki Onsen, which opened in 1923 as a large-scale hot spring amusement park, draws its water from here. The spring quality is a hydrogen sulfide spring, with a temperature of 52-100°C. It is 6km from the Hanamaki Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway and 30 minutes by bus from Hanamaki Station on the Tohoku Main Line. [Tanizawa Akira]
