Nippon Suisan Co., Ltd.
A long-established company in the fisheries industry. In 1919, Tamura Kisen Fisheries merged with Kyodo Fisheries, and in 1934, it joined the Nissan Conzern, absorbing many other fishing companies. During World War II, it became a controlling company, but after the war, it separated from Nippon Refrigeration in 1945. In 1946, it resumed whaling in the Southern Ocean, and in 1947, it resumed fishing in the North Pacific. It produces mainly surimi, frozen fish, frozen foods, oils and fats, and meals, and aims to become a comprehensive food company under the Nissui brand. While expanding into pharmaceuticals, it has withdrawn from shipbuilding. In recent years, it has acquired New Zealand's largest fisheries company and a North American brand of frozen fisheries for home use, and is working to build a global SCM. Head office in Tokyo, offices in Kitakyushu, Nagoya, and other locations. Capital in 2011 was 23.7 billion yen, and sales for the fiscal year ending March 2011 were 494.2 billion yen. Sales breakdown (%) is as follows: fisheries 38, food 51, finance 5, logistics 2, and other 3. Overseas sales ratio: 22%.

水産業界の老舗。1919年田村汽船漁業部が共同漁業に合併,1934年に日産コンツェルン入りをし,以後多数の漁業会社を吸収,第2次大戦中は統制会社となったが,戦後1945年日本冷蔵と分離。1946年南氷洋捕鯨,1947年北洋漁業を再開。すり身を中心に,冷凍魚,冷凍食品,油脂・ミールなどを生産し,〈ニッスイ〉ブランドで総合食品会社をめざす。医薬品にも進出する一方で,造船業からは撤退。近年,ニュージーランド最大の水産企業を傘下に収め,北米の家庭用水産冷凍食品ブランドを買収するなど,グローバルなSCM構築を進める。本社東京,事業所北九州,名古屋ほか。2011年資本金237億円,2011年3月期売上高4942億円。売上構成(%)は,水産38,食品51,ファイナンス5,物流2,その他3。海外売上比率22%。
