Soviet-Mongolian Friendship Treaty - Soviet-Mongolian Friendship Treaty

Soviet-Mongolian Friendship Treaty - Soviet-Mongolian Friendship Treaty
An agreement concluded in Moscow in November 1921 between the Russian Soviet Government and the Mongolian People's Government. It is often mistakenly called the Treaty. After the Mongolian Revolution succeeded in July 1921 with the help of the Soviet Union, a Mongolian delegation went to the Soviet Union and concluded an equal treaty between the two nations, renouncing the previous unequal arrangement between Russia and Mongolia (autonomous government) and recognizing each other as the only legitimate government. The treaty also prohibited any actions aimed at the overthrow of the other country within the country, thus legally establishing the Soviet position towards Mongolia.
