Also known as sparrow's egg spots or summer spots. These are brownish to blackish brown pigmented spots the size of a pinhead to a pea. They occur symmetrically in large numbers on the face, especially around the eyes, on exposed areas such as the neck and hands, and are asymptomatic. They are more common in adolescent girls. There is a congenital predisposition, and they are more likely to occur in people with fair skin. They worsen in the spring and summer. They are difficult to treat despite avoiding direct sunlight and taking or injecting vitamin C and adrenal cortical hormones.

雀卵(じゃくらん)斑，夏日(かじつ)斑とも。針頭大からエンドウ豆大の茶褐〜黒褐色の色素斑。顔面，特に目の周囲，頸(けい)部，手などの露出部に対称性に多数生じ，自覚症状はない。思春期の女子に多い。先天性素因があり，色白の人に好発。春，夏に増悪する。直射日光を避け，ビタミンC，副腎皮質ホルモン剤の内服・注射などを行うが難治。
