Japanese: ソウシチョウ(想思鳥) - ソウシチョウ（英語表記）red‐billed leiothrix

A bird of the passerine family, family Muscicapidae, subfamily Pekinginae. It is found from southern China to the Himalayas, and lives in mountain grasslands and shrub forests. It is often kept as a cage bird in China because of its beautiful song and appearance, and is easy to keep. It has also been imported to Japan for a long time. For this reason, it is also called the Peking robin or Japanese nightingale. It has been imported to the Hawaiian Islands, where it has become feral. It is about 16 cm long, dark green-gray on the upper side, orange from the throat to the chest, and has red spots on its black wings.

スズメ目ヒタキ科チメドリ亜科の鳥。中国南部からヒマラヤにかけて分布し，山地の草地や灌木林に生息する。鳴声と姿が美しく，飼いやすいため，中国では籠鳥としてよく飼われ，日本にも古くから輸入された。このため英名ではPeking robin,Japanese nightingaleなどとも呼ぶ。ハワイ諸島にも輸入され，野生化している。全長約16cm，上面は暗緑灰色で，のどから胸にかけてオレンジ色，黒い翼には赤い斑がある。
