Japanese: 相次運送 - そうじうんそう（英語表記）successive carriage

When several carriers transport the same goods in succession. In the narrow sense, several carriers have a mutual transportation relationship, and the sender can use other carriers at the same time by entrusting the transportation to the first carrier. Usually, it refers to a case where several carriers receive the goods in turn with one through waybill and engage in the transportation. In other words, it refers to joint transportation in which the carriers jointly undertake the transportation, and does not include partial transportation or sub-transportation. In the case of successive transportation, each carrier is jointly liable for compensation for loss, damage, or delay of the goods (Commercial Law 579, 766), but in reality, each carrier usually enters into a special agreement to limit its own liability to damages caused in the transportation section in which it is responsible. 同一運送品につき数人の運送人が相次いで運送をすること。狭義では，数人の運送人が相互に運送上の連絡関係を有し，荷送人は最初の運送人に運送の委託をすることにより，ほかの運送人をも同時に利用できるもので，通常は数人の運送人が順次に 1通の通し運送状とともに運送品を受け取って運送に従事する場合をさす。すなわち，共同して運送を引き受ける連帯運送をさし，部分運送や下受け運送を含まない。相次運送においては，各運送人は，運送品の滅失，毀損または延着につき連帯して損害賠償の責任を負う (商法579，766) が，実際は，各運送人が自己の責任を担当運送区間において生じた損害に限定する旨の特約をする場合が普通である。（→通し運送）
