Song San Cai (English spelling)

Song San Cai (English spelling)
Sancai pottery from the Song Dynasty in China. The Song Dynasty, founded in 960, was invaded by the Jurchens in 1126 (Jingkang 1), who crossed over to the south, resulting in the coexistence of the Southern Song and Jin dynasties on the north and south. When referring to Song Sancai, it is customary to include Jin Sancai as well. Song Sancai follows the lineage of Sancai from the late Tang and Five Dynasties, and was originally fired in kilns related to the Cizhou kiln in northern China, such as Dengfeng kilns, Lushan kilns, and Baofeng kilns in Henan Province, and Cizhou kilns in Hebei Province. However, it is strange that there are very few surviving pieces of Sancai from the Northern Song Dynasty.
