A manor in Yamagata County, Chikugo Province (present-day Setaka Town and Mitsuhashi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture). The time of its establishment and the circumstances of its establishment are unknown. In 1131 (Tensho 1), it was divided into Kamisho and Shimosho, and Takao Betsufu was established for Shimosho. In the early 12th century, Chunagon Fujiwara Toshitada held the position of lord, but Shimosho was later passed on to his grandson, Tokudaiji Sadaijin Sanesada, who donated the main position to Taikenmon'in, and it was passed on to Enshoji. After the fall of the Taira clan, in 1186 (Bun'ei 2), the manor was obstructed by Amano Tokage, the magistrate of the Chinzei region, but Sanesada appealed to Yoritomo and overturned the obstruction. During the Kamakura period, Setakakamisho became the property of Myohoin Temple, and in 1273 (Bun'ei 10), both Kamisho and Shimosho became the tax offices for the construction of the lecture hall of Enryakuji Temple for a period of 10 years.
