Born in the third year of the Eiroku era. Served Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and in the 18th year of Tensho era, was granted 10,000 koku of land in Bitchu (Okayama Prefecture). Prior to the Battle of Sekigahara, he secretly informed Tokugawa Ieyasu of Ishida Mitsunari's uprising. He sided with Toyotomi in the Siege of Osaka, but was pardoned for his earlier achievements, and in the first year of the Genna era, he became the first head of the Ito clan, lords of the Okada domain in Bitchu. 10,000 koku.
