A general term for a system in which the results of productivity improvements at individual companies are distributed to workers. In the case of Japanese companies, many companies adopt the so-called "three-way split" method, in which the results of productivity improvements are divided into three parts: (1) company profits to prepare for the next expansion of production facilities, (2) a portion to be used to reduce product prices in order to win the competition in the industry and provide services to consumers, and (3) a portion to be used for wages and bonuses for workers directly engaged in production. Other examples include the Scanlon Plan, which keeps labor costs constant and increases wages by the difference between the actual wages paid, the Rucker Plan, which keeps the ratio of added value to wages constant and automatically determines wages in response to increases or decreases in added value, and the General Motors Plan, which raises wage levels in response to the growth rate of the national economy.

個別企業における生産性向上の成果を労働者に配分する制度の総称。日本の企業の場合は生産性向上により得られた成果を3つの部分に分け，(1) 次期の生産設備の拡大にそなえるための会社の利潤，(2) 業界での競争に勝ち，また消費者にサービスをするための製品価格の引下げにあてる部分，(3) 生産に直接従事した労働者の賃金，賞与にあてる部分とする，いわゆる「成果三分法」を採用している企業が多い。このほか人件費率を一定とし実際の支払賃金との差額を賃金の増額とするスキャンロン・プラン，付加価値と賃金の比率を一定として，その付加価値の増減に対応して自動的に賃金を決定するラッカー・プラン，国民経済の成長率に対応させて賃金の水準を上げるゼネラル・モーターズ・プランなどがあげられる。
