Later he moved to Mansfeld, and following the expectations of his father, who had been successful in business, he attended schools there, Magdeburg, and Eisenach, and in 1501 entered the University of Erfurt, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 1502 and a master's degree in 1505, and began studying law.
