Iijima [town] - Iijima
A town in Kamiina County in southern Nagano Prefecture. Iijima, the central area of ​​the Iida Line, is located in the Ina Basin. During the Edo period, it was a government-owned territory and had a jin'ya (camp) there, and was also a post station on the Sanshu Kaido road. The town produces rice, pears, apples, mushrooms, and flowers. The Nijisseiki pear is a local specialty. To the west is the Kiso Mountains, with Minami-Komagatake and Utsugi-dake towering above. 86.96 km2 . 9,902 people (2010).
