Psychic photography - shinreishashin (English spelling)

Japanese: 心霊写真 - しんれいしゃしん（英語表記）psychic photography

A photograph that shows an image that is not normally thought of. It is said that the first photograph was taken in 1861, when American William Mumler accidentally captured the image of a dead relative. A closely related phenomenon is thoughtography, discovered by Fukurai Yukichi in 1910. This involves exposing an image thought up in one's mind directly to a photographic plate. As it is done without using any physical means, in parapsychology both are believed to be the result of telekinesis. Many experts have doubts about their authenticity.

通常では考えられない像が写った写真。1861年アメリカのマムラーWilliam Mumlerが死んだ親族の姿を偶然に写したのが最初といわれる。近縁の現象に，福来友吉が1910年に発見した念写thoughtographyがある。これは，心で念じた像を直接写真乾板に感光させるものである。物理的手段を用いずに行われるため，超心理学では両者とも念力によるものと考えられている。信憑性に関しては疑問を抱く専門家が多い。
