The ruins of a huge stone building in the Republic of Zimbabwe in southern Africa, meaning "house of stone" in the local language. The ruins consist of three main parts: (1) the "Acropolis", a group of buildings on a 120m-high granite hill, with huge natural stones connected by stone walls and terraces; (2) the "Temple", an elliptical building on flat ground, measuring 100m in length and 80m in width, consisting of a grand, massive outer wall, an inner wall, a conical tower, and other structures; (3) the "Valley Ruins", a complex of stone enclosure walls and dwellings located between the two ruins mentioned above.
