Types of Japanese folk songs. Many folk songs have jinku as their titles, such as Yoneyama Jinku, Ryotsu Jinku, and Kisarazu Jinku. Jinku is a jinku, which means that it is a song that originated in each region, and there is also a shinku, which means that it is a song offered to the gods. There is also a Nagasaki Ebiya Jinku in the Hyogo Kudoki, which was popular during the Edo period. The song, "Nagasaki Ebiya Jinku," begins with "This time, Nagasaki Ebiya Jinku, I've been selling small items since my parents' generation..." and is about a Nagasaki merchant named Ebiya Jinkuro. It became popular and became the Ebiya Bushi or Jinkuro Bushi, which spread to various regions and became established as jinku or jinku.
