A theater magazine. First published in March 1916 (Taisho 5). It ceased publication in April 1925. Competing with the Kabuki-focused Engei Gaho, it aimed to be a more high-class theater magazine with a broader perspective. Chief editor was Okamura Kakiko, and editor in chief Abe Yutaka. Every month it featured stage photographs from theaters in the east and west, introductions to commercial theater, research, and critiques, as well as articles on new theater. It also gained a reputation for holding joint critiques by leading theater figures of the time, such as Ihara Seigen, Oyamauchi Kaoru, Okamoto Kido, and Miyake Shutaro, as well as up-and-coming theater people.
