Anthracene

C ₁₄ H ₁₀ (178.3). It is contained in the anthracene oil fraction of coal tar, and is separated and refined from it industrially. In the laboratory, it can be synthesized by reducing anthraquinone or by condensing two molecules of benzyl chloride with aluminum chloride as a catalyst. It is a colorless crystal with blue fluorescence. Melting point 216 °C, boiling point 340 °C. 1.25. It dissolves in benzene, toluene, chloroform, etc., and forms an addition compound with picric acid (red crystals with a melting point of 138 °C). It is oxidized to anthraquinone, and reduced to 9,10-dihydroanthracene. It is used as a raw material for the manufacture of alizarin and other dyes. When irradiated with UV light (310-375 nm), an anthracene dimer in which two molecules are bonded at the 9-position is obtained. It is used as a raw material for synthetic dyes and carbon black. C₁₄H₁₀(178.3)．石炭タールのアントラセン油留分中に含まれ，工業的にはこれから分離，精製される．実験室的には，アントラキノンを還元するか，塩化ベンジル2分子を塩化アルミニウムを触媒として縮合させるなどの方法によって合成できる．青色の蛍光をもつ無色の結晶．融点216 ℃，沸点340 ℃．1.25．ベンゼン，トルエン，クロロホルムなどに溶け，ピクリン酸と付加化合物(融点138 ℃ の赤色結晶)をつくる．酸化すればアントラキノンを，還元すれば9,10-ジヒドロアントラセンを生じる．アリザリン，そのほかの染料製造の原料となる．UV光(310～375 nm)を照射すると，2分子が9位どうしで結合したアントラセン二量体が得られる．合成染料，カーボンブラック原料に用いられる．[CAS 120-12-7][別用語参照]アクリルアルデヒド
