Japanese: 除雪自動車 - じょせつじどうしゃ（英語表記）snow‐plow

A vehicle used to remove snow from roads. Snowplows are not used except in the winter when snow accumulates, and few are designed specifically for snow removal due to economic reasons. Snow removal equipment is installed on commonly used loading vehicles such as trucks and forklifts, and civil engineering vehicles such as tractors, shovel loaders, and motor graders, depending on the amount of snow that has accumulated. Depending on the method of snow removal, there are vehicles with plows that remove snow to the side, rotary snowplows that throw collected snow to the side, and snow loaders that discharge collected snow to the rear on a conveyor belt and load it onto a truck.

道路上の積雪を排除するための自動車。除雪自動車は冬季積雪期以外は稼働することがなく，経済的な面から除雪専用として設計されたものはほとんどない。一般に使用される普通トラック，フォークリフトなどの荷役車両や，トラクター，ショベルローダー，モーターグレーダーなどの土木作業用車両に，積雪量に応じた除雪装置を装着して用いている。除雪する方式により，雪を側方へ排除するプラウplow(排除板)をもつもの，集めた雪を側方に投雪するロータリー除雪車，集めた雪をベルトコンベヤで後方に排出してトラックに積み込むスノーローダーなどがある。
