Japanese: 植物相 - しょくぶつそう（英語表記）flora

Also called flora. All the types of plants that grow and distribute in a specific limited area or water body. They can be classified from various aspects, such as fungal flora and algal flora for specific plant groups, flora of the Ogasawara Islands for regions, alpine flora and snow flora for living environments, and floating flora, benthic flora, epiphytic flora for life forms. While vegetation and plant communities are named after representative plants or landscapes and are treated quantitatively, flora is a qualitative grouping determined by identifying species. Together with fauna, they constitute the biota.

フロラともいう。特定の限られた地域や水域に分布，生育する植物の全種類をいう。特定の植物群について菌類相，藻類相など，地域について小笠原諸島の植物相など，生活環境について高山植物相，氷雪植物相など，生活形群について浮遊植物相，底生植物相，着生植物相などのように，いろいろの側面からまとめることができる。植生，植物群落が代表的な植物や景観によって名づけられ，量的に扱われる植物集団であるのに対し，植物相は種を同定して決定される定性的な集合概念である。動物相と合せて生物相を構成する。
